What to Expect From Ear, Nose, and Throat Care

Upon arrival at Canyon View Ear, Nose & Throat, our experienced medical team will begin to assess your symptoms and condition. We will discuss your medical history and current medications and begin an evaluation to determine how best to start your treatment. We will examine the ears, nose, and throat for irritation, redness, and drainage. In some situations, we may take throat cultures and receive culture results in 15 minutes or less, allowing us to quickly diagnose your condition. After determining the cause of your symptoms, we will discuss the best treatment method.

The appropriate course of treatment will be recommended based on your issue. Most viral infections will clear up within about a week or so. To help your body heal faster, we recommend getting plenty of rest and staying hydrated. Over-the-counter medications, such as cough medicine and pain relievers (like ibuprofen or Tylenol) can help alleviate your symptoms while nasal saline rinses can help flush out the nasal cavity. For bacterial infections, a course of antibiotics may be prescribed. We will recommend surgeries or other procedures if necessary.
